The short version: November through April is the dry season, with calmer, less humid days and the most demand. Summer is hotter, with more open dates, and is best in the morning before afternoon storms. Book holiday and event weekends well ahead.
Season by season
November to April: dry season
Lower humidity, fewer storms and comfortable temperatures make this peak charter season. Weekends fill quickly, especially around the holidays, so book early.
May to October: summer
Hot, humid days with frequent afternoon thunderstorms that often pass quickly. Morning charters usually get the calmest water. Weekdays in summer are the easiest dates to find.
Hurricane season
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. Most days are still fine for charters, and your captain watches the forecast closely. If the captain decides conditions are unsafe, your date moves at no cost.
The best time of day
- Morning: calmer water and the best light for swimming and sandbars.
- Afternoon: the warmest water; in summer, keep an eye on storms.
- Sunset: the skyline at golden hour. See our sunset champagne cruise.
Book early for these
- Holiday weekends such as Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and Labor Day
- Spring break and the winter holidays
- Big event weeks in Miami, such as boat show week in February and art week in early December
